Presentation 1: Get a Second Life!

Second Life is an online 3D virtual world developed by San Francisco-based Linden Lab. It provides an immersive environment where users are able to create a digital character or 'avatar' and interact with people from around the world. Second Life also provides a platform for interactions and experiences which allow business, public, education and not-for-profit organisations to connect with their clients and communties in exciting new ways.

Jo Kay aka jokay Wollongong, one of Australia's well-known virtual residents of Second Life, will lead us on a live tour - giving participants a glimpse into this highly creative and immersive online space. During the session we'll visit the International Spaceflight Museum, ride a weather balloon, and visit a virtual museum. Along the way, we'll also meet some of the amazing residents of this emerging online community.

Presentation 2: Web Apps: A Trillion Tiny Transactions

Whether you're trying to make money from advertising, subscription or the Google Flip, the value of your product, and your company is normally made up lots of little bits of value. How do you maximise the value, minimise the friction of the transaction, and let the transactions roam free?

About the Presenter - Mick Liubinskas

Mick is a geek-wannabe unmarketer, who has worked in a haphazard mix of technology roles and events - IBM Mainframes, Virgin Computer Games, his own startup, the Kazaa tornado, Zapr @ DEMO and Tangler at Techcrunch40.  He loves new products and teams that work there arses off to make them big. After spending lots of time in San Francisco he thinks Sydney is fast becoming the next big tech hub.
