We have a very exciting Web Standards Group meeting coming up in Melbourne on Thursday September 7, 2006. Jonathon Oxer will be delivering a talk entitled Making Things Move: Finding Inappropriate Uses for Scripting Languages.

If you thought that connectivity on the Web was restricted to personal computers and servers, think again. With this presentation, Jon will open your mind for what is possible.

He is also one of the few people in the world to have been surgically implanted with an RFID chip, which he is using to experiment with technical issues such as authentication techniques and exploits as well as philosophical issues such as privacy and identity.

His obsession with making gadgets talk to each other, combined with his expertise in Web technologies will no doubt make for an engaging presentation.
