Date: Tuesday 30 August, 2005
Concerned about accessibility but not sure where to begin? Need to know more about adaptive technologies such as screen readers? Want to see usability testing methods and user centred design practices in action? Join us for our second free Web Essentials briefing for 2005 where our speakers will be David Woodbridge and Robert Spriggs of the Royal Blind Society along with Lisa Herrod of Access Testing.
Through demonstrating adaptive technologies David and Robert are going to show us why some of the more obscure accessibility requirements are there, and what happens if you don't meet them. Likewise, they'll save you a lot of time by pointing out which requirements are less important. David is an Adaptive Technology Consultant for the Royal Blind Society, where Robert is the Services Development Manager for the Technology and Training Service.
Lisa is going to present an overview of the various usability testing methods and tools she uses to evaluate websites in her work as a Usability Analyst at Access Testing. Presented as a walk through of a small-scale usability evaluation, this presentation will be a great opportunity to learn more about User Centred Design practices in web site development.
