CSS3 Reloaded

CSS 3 seems to have been coming for years—but is there anything to show for it yet? Or is it all "pie in the sky"?

Hold onto your seats (or beers at least!). In this presentation, John Allsopp, who's been knee-deep in CSS for more than 12 years, shows us what's been going on behind the scenes with CSS 3—not in the spec, but in the real world. In this talk, John will show you all kinds of CSS effects you can use to progressively enhance your sites for a new generation of browsers, like Safari 4, Firefox 3.5 and Opera 10, while still delivering a great experience to users of other browsers.

About John Allsopp

John AllsoppAuthor of the longest standing CSS development tool on any platform, Style Master, John is also the founder of the Web Directions Conference series, held in Australia, the US, Japan and now the UK. He's written numerous articles in print and online, many free developer tools, was one of the earliest members of the Web Standards Project, wrote the first ever print book on Microformats, and is hard at work on an in-depth book for web developers.

John also is the chair of the W3C's education focussed incubator group.

When not doing one or more of the above, usually simultaneously, John tries to catch up on the parenting of his two young girls.
